Application Process Now Open as “‘Startup Hub of the South’ gets a new way to promote and support entrepreneurs”

(Durham, NC) – July 11, 2018 – The American Tobacco Campus is inviting entrepreneurs and customers to try out new consumer concepts on a revolving schedule in a prime retail spot. The application process is now open (via this link) for a qualified business to be the first to showcase its goods and/or services starting in August at PopUp @ American Tobacco.

Located in a street-level 1,483 sq ft space at busy 359 Blackwell between the campus, Durham Performing Arts Center, Aloft Durham Downtown and Durham Bulls Athletic Park, PopUp @ American Tobacco Campus will regularly feature new entrepreneurs and their concepts. Visitors might experience a new coffee brand for a few weeks, then a fresh idea in yoga, then an apparel line.

Entrepreneurs can review PopUp @ American Tobacco Campus’ microsite (www.popupdurham.com) and if it looks like a good fit, submit the brief application form for consideration.

Consumers can also check the microsite for information on the latest PopUp showcase. American Tobacco’s social channels (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) will carry PopUp news.

“Durham has earned a reputation as ‘The Startup Hub of the South,’ and PopUp @ American Tobacco Campus offers another way to rally around our community’s entrepreneurs and innovators,” says Adam Klein, director of strategy at Capitol Broadcasting Company, which owns the campus. “Plus, the parade of new ideas will be a lot of fun. It’s not just a series of popups, it’s an ongoing adventure.”
