FREE and open to the public!
Join us as count down to the start of the holidays with the annual American Tobacco Tower Lighting celebration. There is always a chance of snow, along with sensational community choral groups and other surprises!
- Surprise Guest from the DPAC’s Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas the Musical!
- Violinist, Daniel D.
- The Hillandale Elementary School Chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Dena Byers
- The Riverside High School Rapids Ensemble, under the direction of Mrs. Jill Boliek
- Performances by Elevate
- And a visit from the man in red himself…SANTA!!
Be one of the first 750 people on site and receive a Light Wand sponsored by 811 Dig North Carolina and PSNC Energy.
At the conclusion of the event (estimated at 7 pm when the Tower lights) the holiday fun continues over at Diamond View Park as the Triangle Tree Challenge comes to life and the voting begins! Santa Selfies available near the Trosa Tree Lot.
And don’t forget to visit the Tree of Bikes on the Burt’s Bees Patio!

Rockin’ Around the Christmas Trees Means a Merry You & Prizes for Nonprofits! The Triangle Christmas Tree Challenge is back for holly, jolly prize awarding fun for nonprofits and the companies that support them!
Mark your calendars now for the unveiling of the trees at the American Tobacco Tower Lighting on December 2.
How to vote for your favorite Tree:
–View the trees in person or online before December 16
–Text your vote to 25827 and enter TREE plus the tree number (ex. Tree 2 or Tree 14)
–Or, vote online by logging on to www.triangletreechallenge.com and entering your email address plus the tree number.

Tree of Bikes Documentary
Learn more about the Tree of Bikes by watching our short documentary. Tree of Bikes is an amazing 25-ft tall sculpture made entirely of new bikes for kids. 120 of the donated bikes collected will be on display. All bikes collected will go to children living in affordable housing.
